The source of inspiration for this painting is the Finnish oral folklore and mythology Kalevala. Sandy chose one of her favorite Finnish artists Akseli Gallen-Kallela´s painting ”LEMMINKÄISEN ÄITI” and made her own version of it. The artwork integrates her vision of the Finnish culture and her new passion, tattoos.
